This 1931 Chrysler CD-8 is a Deluxe Sport Roadster that was registered in New Mexico before it was donated to the seller, the War Eagles Air Museum in Santa Teresa, approximately 30 years ago. The car is finished in burgundy with black fenders over tan vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 282ci inline-eight paired with a Chrysler Multi-Range four-speed manual transmission. Features include a Stromberg carburetor, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, 17″ red-painted wheels with bright spokes, dual side-mount spares, a wire-mesh grille insert, Trippe driving lights with red vinyl covers, cowl lamps, glass wind wings, a tan soft top, a rumble seat, and a fold-down luggage rack. This CD-8 Sport Roadster is now offered at no reserve as part of the War Eagles Air Museum Collection, with a clean New Mexico title in the name of the museum. The winning bid, including the BaT buyer’s fee, will be donated to the War Eagles Air Museum. The Chrysler Series CD Eight was introduced in early 1931 as an intermediate offering between the company’s base-model Six and the Imperial Eight and remained in production through early 1932. Styling was inspired by the Cord L29, with variations of sedan, coupe, and roadster steel bodywork built by Budd Manufacturing. A version of the Chrysler CD contested the 1931 24 Hours of Le Mans, and a Chrysler Eight finished third at the 24-hour race at Spa three weeks later. This example is finished in burgundy with black fenders, and it features chrome bumpers, headlight buckets, and a grille surround as well as a wire-mesh grille insert, Trippe driving lights with red vinyl covers, cowl lamps, a tilt-forward windscreen, glass wind wings, running boards, a tan soft top, a Chrysler-branded brake light, and a fold-down luggage rack. A 1986 Great American Race medallion is affixed to the grille. The red-painted wheels feature bright spokes, and they are mounted with 6.00–5.50–17″ Firestone Deluxe Champion bias-ply whitewall tires. Dual spare wheels topped with mirrors are stowed in black and chrome covers in the fenders. Suspension incorporates leaf-sprung solid axles, and stopping is handled by hydraulic drums at all four corners. The cabin features a split bench seat trimmed in tan vinyl along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Additional details include door storage pockets and lap belts. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a body-color dash housing a central 100-mph speedometer and readouts for water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. A Stewart Warner water temperature gauge is mounted to the left of the steering column. The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles. The rumble seat is trimmed in tan vinyl, while the rear compartment features color-coordinated side panels with storage pockets. The 282ci inline-eight features a single Stromberg carburetor. The engine was serviced in July 2026. Engine stamping CD19383 is presented above, and it is consistent with a 100-horsepower 1931 Series CD Deluxe inline-eight. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a manual transmission that was marketed by Chrysler as a Multi-Range four-speed, offering two different first gears for varied driving conditions as well as second and third gears. Proceeds will go to the War Eagles Air Museum, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to educating and inspiring the next generation by preserving and showcasing the history of aviation, with a focus on the aircraft and artifacts used by the United States during defining times of conflict.
